hi
i have a 250 pre crossflow and was wondering if it would be ok to put the garden hose in the bottom radiator hose to cool it while i have it running on a stand thanks in advance |

Hi randomperson. (nice username) and welcome to the forum.
That's one way of doing it. I have heard of people doing this in the past. Not sure if it will cause any damage or not. It should be okay if you are not going to run it for a long time.

The top hose might be better.....gravity might help but happy to be corrected.....it's worked for me in the past. Silly question but does the engine push the water up through the radiator?

In the bottom will be fine. Run for as long as you like. Water goes back in top of radiator .

For the OP, yes, I think what you propose is okay, but have never tried it. One thing Id do is to position the inlet of the bottom radiator hose as high as possible and facing up, so that there is water lapping around the water pump, even make a near leak proof seal between your garden hose and the bottom hose. |
