Hey everyone,
Wondering if anyone has any interest in Finke? My old man has gone up there as a first-timer, hoping to make a dent in the Performance 2WD class (Car #532).  The car is a beast, specs as follows: Vehicle: Whats left of a 1989 Nissan Navara D21 with fibreglass bonnet and guards Engine: 5.7lt/350ci Chev, race-prepped and prepared in the US by FastCo Automotive, Mighty Demon (Barry Grant) carby, alloy heads, Edelbrock alloy manifold and a million other things, pumping out 450hp/450ftlb at the flywheel Suspension: Full King Spring 2.5" coil-over kit with triple-bypasses and hydraulic bump stops, producing around 19" of wheel-travel. Fully engineered A-Arm style suspension built by S&S Race Frames in Waikerie, SA. Anyone else heading up/know of anyone heading up? I fly out to Alice on Friday, can't wait!

you will have a ball mate ...i used to live alice for 2.5 yrs when i was travelling around oz in 2000 to 2002....finke is unreal and a great few days out camping along the track. all the best and good luck as it one hard race ...normally most of the cars/buggies wont even make it to finke on the 1st day

Just back from the track
Car #410 Gartner F150 (SVO 5900cc) first over line. First time for a Trophy truck and first time for Ford I would reckon The winner!  My photo of the mighty F-Truck running last year. (Didn't take my camera for this historic moment!)  Looks like I need to start on the Bronco for next year's race

Just got back from the presentations. We were first in class and about 20th overall. Ran an hour ahead of the next car in class. Not bad for first time competitors, and this is the first race we've completed! Stoked!
