Flicking foxtel channels I discovered the v8 ute series on speed channel.
It was the ba-bf v8 irrational vs ve utes. They looked like stock body kits. I was wondering what powertrains are being used. the boss and Chevy motors?. It seemed to me the fords had the holdens covered. How modded would the motors be? What are the rules etc? |

It was stated in the commentary today that the engines all make about 310kw, which suggests they arent. However the regulations state: Quote:
On the other hands, the engines for all the cars are built and dyno'd by a single workshop, so they could be stock or not and it wouldn't really matter since they'll all produce the same power. I suppose you could always contact the engine builder and ask... Quote:

They are a blast to drive and pretty good around the track. I love watching them whenever I can. The great thing about the category is that their after race pits are generally open. So you can get in there and really check out the cars, hop in for a photo, and talk to the drivers directly.

Motors are controlled. They run pacmaker headers and a growler intake and thats about it. They use AP 6 piston calipers with DBA 5000 series rotors. The falcons run a 4 link rear end. Apart from all the other typical mods the cars are as is.
