Don't think a trio of 97 strommies would be able to handle the HP & Torque that this puppy puts out NostalgEA
But yeah I have to agree that 97's look better than injection.

This is with a lexus 4l quad cam v8 with Enderle hat

We wnated the quad cam ford engine but back in 2000 was too expensive of an option.

Other engines considered were:

turbod 250 6cyl
20B Turbo
mitsubishi 4G63T (2l turbo)

But being 3 years ago, all gone.
I remember this thing, nice dark blue colour, modern rims, supra tail lights, nice custom dash, I quite liked it for what it was.

This a serious question.. Why don't you see any Coupes (or any old school Falcon for that matter) with a late model Turbo I6 engine?

I would say for me it was cost of engine and drivetrain. Although I would love to do it, maybe one day......

for me part of the answer is simply because older (x series ) falcons just look better with a massive chunk of v8 grunt up front. as great as the turbo 6 is, it just looks odd to have an engine missing 2 cylinders and in the wrong shape. maybe this will change when the v6 comes along? it worked for the holden boys.

Exactly...one of my dream plans when we had our XC Fairmont was to get a twin cam Barra motor and five speed auto out of a newer Falcon and drop them in with no engine mods at all...simply because the level of power and economy from a standard modern engine far exceeds old GT Falcon levels easily.
Drop in one of those Boss motors and it might be a bit heavier, but you'd gain driveability, economy, and still whack out levels of power that you'd have to work the hell out of a Clevo to get, and you'd still end up with a heavily cammed lumpy old-tech V8 swallowing fuel by the buttload.

MMMMM heavily cammed old tech V8. Gotta love that. Boss motors just dont rattle my chain. Although they rattle their own. Extremely neat conversion though.

What he said...385's are easier to get to the plugs, than a Cleveland...getting to the header bolts on the inside of the header tube bend...ahh!! That's another matter entirely!! By the way... FE's are narrower (but heavier) tha 385 series engines. They got the notorious reputation, of being hard to change plugs on, because a lot of them, were fitted in '67 to '70 Mustangs,(an extremely tight fit).I've heard of instances where, to change a set of plugs, on FE equipped early 'Stangs can take 8(??!!) hours!!
