Default New Stainless Steel LPG Tank

my ford au1 is currently getting stainless steel lpg tank (68 litre capacity) installed. They are going to charge $2,250. It will not backfire upon changing from petrol to lpg.

Are any of you experienced with lpg to be able to give me some advice on how to look after and use this lpg tank into the future? i.e. service, getting low on gas etc

thanks

That sounds quite pricey!!!

Isn't a whole conversion from scratch around $2500?

The $2250 includes the tank, fitting and the testing - basically the whole conversion.

Some places I asked were charging that price for a non stainless steel tank.

I've just converted my AU1 XR8 to run on LPG (dual fuel). Some advice:
1. The car may run rough for the first 1000km while the converter and ohter components "loosen up"
2. When you get low on gas, you can do 2 things. Run it out (and then switch to petrol) or fill it up.
3. Always keep around 1/4 tank of fuel in the petrol tank - for starting, and in cases where you run out of gas.
4. Get the car serviced regularly (every 10,000km). Especially the gas system components.
