TS Magna Wagon manufactured until Oct96 (sedan ceased in Jul/Aug96), but still available as a runout model until March 1997 was available in the GLX pack..
The GLX was fitted with a 2.4L 4 cyl Carby motor, plastic only inside doors, Clunky 3 speed auto, or 4 speed manual (5 speed manual and sports shift auto not available on the GLS) Aimed at fleet purchasers (eg. Coca-cola, Cadbury.. and the company I used to work for!) Averaged about 14-16L/100KM fuel non-economy, and you were almost flat out off the line every where you went to get the thing to move!. at 80km/h turn on the aircon (dont move the position of the foot on the pedal!).. and the car slowed to 75km/h! recommended retail (wagon!) $24K.. the executive 3.0EFI was $31K value now!... $750.00 From the Wikipedia;: TS Magna was replaced by the all-new TE series in 1996, however, TS wagons remained for sale up to 1997 pending the delayed arrival of the TE-based wagon. GLX (carbureted; manual and automatic) Executive (EFI; manual and automatic) Executive V6 (manual and automatic) SE (EFI; manual and automatic) Elite (EFI; automatic)

I'm pretty sure the Ford JH Econovan came as a 2ltr carby in the early 2000's.

They had a 2.6L engine, not 2.4 and they had 4speed auto or a 5 speed manual. No Magna was ever available with 3speed autos or 4 speed manuals.

What is the difference between points ignition and an electronic ignition (with distributor obviously).
Points is obviously all mechanical, thats about all I know. We all know real engines fire on compression, not spark ;) |
