Don't laugh - there are plenty of older Corvettes and stuff running around with a chain drive steering conversion that uses a similar idea.
The brake and clutch pedals utilise a cross shaft so that all the original components remain as original on the left side of the vehicle. It has merit when you think about it. Russ |

Pretty sure I have seen some postal vehicles in America with a setup like that. I think it's only supposed to be a cheap temporary setup for mail delivery.

Back in the sixties F model Macks used a tail shaft and uni joints
to change from left hand drive to right hand drive it was positioned under the dash and some of the stories we heard about jamming a screw driver in the uni just to P off the driver |

In Indiana I saw mercury [KF lasers] with drivers seat in the middle, brake pedal each side and original steering wheel fitted with a knobs.
mail was sat on the right and put in the boxes. saw numbers of Volvo cars with 2 steering colums. the steering shaft came off the steering rack at each end. yanks had those 2.5 RHD jeeps for years. my regions mail deliveries can be dangerous. no justification in o for LHD bans.
