I have a FG and my wife wants me to get a bike rack to carry 2 kids bikes. I can only fit one bike in the boot.
I didn't really want to get a tow bar as I don't like the fact I have to cut up the rear bar plus it's not removeable. Are there any other options for carrying 2 bikes?

Having a sedan means you will need a tow bar mounted bike rack....No other way around it.
Having a tow bar will make the car more versatile so you can tow a trailer/caravan etc etc. |

Isn't there a cap you remove on the bumper to fit a towbar? The bumper shouldn't need to be cut.

There are a few options. Some of which I dont personally endorse but are options for those who prefer not to fit a tow bar.

The rack I have for my tow bar is the THULE XPRESS 970
 I can fit it onto the tow ball in seconds and have the bike fitted on the rack and ready to go in minutes.

Tow bar is the best solution - 50x50 removable slide out tongue . Increases versatility of the car and many options for a rack. I use ISI bike carrier bur that's probably overkill for you.

Hayman Reese are the tow bars you want with the removeable tongue.
  But they are more expensive than your regular 'fixed' tow bar tongues. But give you the versatility of being able to remove the tongue when not in use. It also makes the rear of the car look nicer with out it too.

I got sick of stuffing around with bike racks, so I bought a Ranger.
I had a towbar rack for my sedan and it was good, but too much stuffing around for someone like me who sometimes rides few times a week. Brother has a Boot one for my mums VW Golf. It's ok but not as good as a towbar one. |
