FG steering wheels on BA

Hi i have a Mk2 Ba xr6 and was wondering if an fg steering wheels would fit it

Yes, done it before . But why would you? BA wheel is far superior and I would be going the other way.

Can be done but is FAR from being a bolt-on job.

Thanks mate, i was just wondering if it was better but if it is a backwards step i will keep the BA one

I wouldn't say the B-Series wheel is "far superior" ! I did prefer the chunkier leather bound B-Series version... but I reckon the F-Series switch pods are better quality ! When my B-Series silver Cruise switch failed, and the timber grain had worn off the top (after only 2.5yrs)... I looked at fitting the F-Series leather bound wheel, due to it's better (& much cheaper) silver switch pods... and it's a lot easier to find a replacement (than my BF Fairlane version) if need be !

Hmm... it's not quite a bolt-on job perse'...
You need an F-Series wheel and clock-spring... and you need to make a jump loom between the F-Series clock-spring & B-Series column-dash loom plugs.
You also need to modify the F-Series audio circuit board (in the audio switch pod) so the F-Series audio controls talk to the B-Series stereo.

Other than that... the F-Series airbag has the same resistance as the B-Series airbag... the F-Series cruise control switch pod operates the B-Series cruise control... the horn works too... and the F-Series phone switch will operate the B-Series Bluetooth unit too (as long as you have made the jump loom mentioned earlier).

However.. having successfully completed an F-Series wheel conversion into a B-Series... it then allowed me to work on upgrading the F-Series wheel to accept Paddle-Shift paddles...

...which I've taken from a 2010-2012 Ford Taurus wheel ! At this point in time... I haven't found anything suitable to fit to a B-Series wheel (probably is something suitable out there... I just haven't found it... yet).

The Paddle-Shift upgrade is a whole other story... but we have worked out how to interface with the ZF6spd (B & F-Series) at this stage.... and it works really well ! The wheel side of things is sorted... but we're still working our way from "prototype stage" to "finished product" stage with the trans interface !
