Thumbs up odometer/dash cluster

just wondering if anyone could tell me where the odometer reading is stored. Im looking to replace the engine on my series 1 AU ex taxi (850,000km) with a 47,000km one, and was wondering if the odometer reading is displayed from the ecu or do i need a new dash cluster to get it to show the lower kms to match the motor? if its the cluster, are all AUI-III + XR's interchangeable?
cheers.

For an AU11 it is stored in the cluster, I presume AU1 is the same. The clusters are interchangeable. There are a few minor thngs to be done wiring wise though.
