Exclamation Ford cut to junk by Moody's on doubts over plan to boost profit

https://europe.autonews.com/automake...n-boost-profit

Ford's inability to generate enough appealing products is starting to have a negative impact.

Moodys........hmmm
They were the ones that gave AAA investment grade ratings to the no-doc loan package securities being flogged (by their employer) which caused the GFC.

Exactly, they can't see what's ahead so their calls are lagging indicator.

Right now, Ford stock is aound $9 and everything says sell sell sell
but canny traders will be watching and buying up as it goes lower
waiting for the turnaround next year or so.

The lower rating is exactly because Ford is diverting profit into restructuring
and new products, so rather than being stupid and wasteful, Ford is doing
things to move it business in the right direction, especially Europe and USA.

Tend to agree, if you look at the new product recently released in the States like Aviator, Expedition, Explorer and F Series, the hybrid ecoboost V6s - some of that stuff is seriously desirable. Crying shame it isn't coming here.

They might have great conventional products but it’s now a shrinking market with GM and Ford looking at rising unit costs at a time when the exact opposite applies to the tech competition ie lower unit costs from expanding sales numbers.
Rivian is an asset for Ford in the Ute market perhaps.

GM just had a massive month in the US with over 288,000 sales,
BEV sales are still flecks of fly poop at this time.

Ford s still rolling out Explorer/Aviator, Escape is about to change
7.3 and 10-speed auto across the board for Super Duty in Q 4 and,
a ton of new products next year from mexico as well as Bronco in Michigan.

I understand the difference between the American market and others, but which particular American vehicles are we going to import in big numbers ?.
The average Australian city dweller buys predominantly Asian and European these days I would have thought.
The Koreans are seemingly worried about cannibalising their own ICE fleet and so, it appears, aren’t particularly keen on supplying the Kona and Niro Electric one’s in significant numbers.
Salesmen/women will be keen to reinforce your prejudices however because dealerships aren’t looking forward to the future of a vehicle not needing constant maintenance.
I suspect new car sales margins will increase to offset the lost maintenance revenues...........and that can be done online.

They are still only 1 grade below investment grade. Not much required to have it back there.

Indeed it is the same gearbox and some of the issues is traced to faulty Valve bodies as well as software issues.

Lots is a relative term when there is already close to two million ten speed auto F150s in USA & Canada

Throw it in the bin if you like.
It’s not worth a thread is it?.
