Default Best kit currently available - tranny cooler/radiator bypass

Hi guys, putting it out there for comment from the brains trust.

Have decided to keep the Territory for a few more years due to the crazy price of getting into something newer and not really finding anything that ticks the right boxes.

So have decided to do a bit more maintenance that I’ve been putting off, ie rear main seal, cvs etc.

The vehicle has nearly done 150k so I thought a service on the tranny and adding a cooler to bypass the radiator may as well get done at the same time.

The question is what is the best kit available these days to suit the Territory? Any suggestions on what NOT to get?

TIA for any input.

Cheers

I went the other way and got my dealer to replace the factory one because it comes with a 3-year warranty that will include a transmission replacement if it fails during that period. Not saying that is the best approach for everyone but it works for me.

This is for the 2010 TTG you have? 150k is still pretty low.
IMO the trans has lasted unmodified for 12 years and has operated fine? why introduce something that could make it fail.

PS This Thread has a danger of turning into something else just like every other trans cooler Thread

Hey nothing like opening a can of worms……

Yeh it’s for the 2010 TTG.

I like Russell’s way of thinking and going with a factory unit and 3yrs warranty. I never use the dealer for anything other than my work cars but might look into this.

I know everyone has an opinion on it and I would like to minimise the chances of major dramas now the car is getting a little older and thought this modification might be a good investment rather than a milkshaked gearbox.

Appreciate any further ideas.

Cheers
