Question Subtle BA Ghia differences

Hi

I have had a AU11, M1 & M11 XR6 and now have a M1 Ghia. Couple of things I noticed straight up and later that the Ghia was different....(no not just the options)

The wipers are very quiet. The others used to clunk and or click in operation.

The blinker and wiper stick on the steering column when operated feel more rubbery and not as clicky, like they have extra rubber bushes or something.

And the shifter is the same very tight and rubbery. Just to add credance to this last one, I had the surround off the shifter the other day to clean it and the shifter has a factory sticker on it with teh part number and clearly states Ghia in big print???

Am I dreaming????????

Ghias are a nice car, I like the BA version better than the AU version but it does look and feel too much like an XT to me. Hence why its not quiet as popular as say the Calais which does 'feel' a little bit special compared to the Exec. (which isn't hard to achieve since the exec is so bland anyway).

Is there anything you can get in the Ghia that you can't in any other model?

Not a lot. Badges lol. It is a package of stuff and I believe has different level of insulation and other small underskin things. Hence my original question about the switches and shifter they feel completely different to my last two BAs.

I notice that the switches in my BA XR6 T ute are much more rubbery and nicer feeling than the XT sedan I drive to work.

They are of the same model year so I don't know why the indicators feel so clunky compared to the soft thunk of the XR ones.

Maybe they made a running change.

mmm thats interesting because I reckon my XR6 M1 &m11 had cluncky clicky switches compared to the Ghia which is M1, the wiper are definately 10 time quieter might just be insulation. Found another difference today that hadn't noticed before...furry lined glove box and it has a phuematic piston on it..when you open it, it lowers itself down.
