Ok, now I'm total confused.

I have T3man saying that pin 85 is for the relay switch,
russellw saying pin 85 is to be grounded and
autickfordfairmont saying that pin 85 needs to be looped from positive...

Can some please make sure that my following diagram will work:

In a normal setup, 85 is grounded (earth wire). If you want to use that fancy setup in the wiring diagram, then follow it, but it is not a standard, or normal, setup.

I'm sure T3man's use of #85 was a typo - he meant 86 for the switch/high beam circuit. Same wire, but if you don't use a switch, the HB wire goes straight to 86. If you do use a switch, the wire goes from HB wire into cabin for switch, and the return switch wire goes to 86.

I thought you had fitted "Driving lights" ... but they do look like a similar size to my fog lights that I am about to get installed.

Although i am after some PIAA Ion Crystal yellow globes to put in my Hella FF75 foglights. As I'd prefer a yellow beam over white when it comes to fog.

I'll get around to getting them installed ... but to mount the brackets I think i need to take the nudge bar off to mount them in the lower air dam section ... most likely into the metal reo-bar behind the front bar skin. And that's going to be a pain as I have to disconnect the driving lights ... then takem them off the nudge bar ... the undo the nudge bar and remove them ... to get to the front reo-bar ... sounds to me like too much hard work at the moment ... LOL

I'm crap when it comes to wiring stuff up ... so i left it to a trust auto sparky ... and I do run a relay and in-line fuse as well .... with a switch under the dash (these are for my LightForce driving lights)

Orbit: For your sports bar mounted lights (presuming for off-road use ... hee hee) .... are they hooked up to the light circuit ... are they running off a seperate switches ... and can they be used without running your headlights (as I know for off-road usage you are allowed to run them seperately).

Yes, that will work perfectly OK - some wiring diagrams will show #85 to ground and #86 to switch and others the opposite. Fact is that it doesn't matter one crappola because you are only running current through the coil and it is irrellevant which way it goes.

It was bloody hard to get the cd player out - HINT: If you just have the double din CD Tuner without a tape player, you can pop off the plastic cover where the tape deck would normaly be to get some leverage from inside the unit.

Just an update, I fitted the switches today. They are slimline rocker switches that light up when turned on. 1 switch for driving lights, 1 switch for fog lights (later).

The few holes you can see around the switches were already there when I got the car. They were for a CB radio mount. By placing the switched there, it covered up 4 other holes.

lol , i had a bit of fun removing the radio at first too ! , then i used 2 very tight fitting allen-keys, made it heaps easier, unclipped the 1 side ,then tilted the radio out a bit on that side , then unclipped the other side and pulled it out a bit too , then just put each of the allen-keys in both of the bottom left and right holes , push them away/outwards from the radio and pull, came out pretty easy doing it that way .

Had my fog lights fitted yesterday ... will try and get some pics of them.
I put the orange lit rocker switch where the boot/fuel release is (as the ute doesn't have these and is a blank cover).

I have mounted my fog lights directly under the numberplate.
