IT's my hugs and kisses...
She told me today shes going to start a project but would need my help. So i said sure ok Then she said "what do you think about xy gt 351's?" i said yep awesome car (wondering her agenda) she said i want to do one up! after picking myself up off the floor giving her a massive hug, then composing my self and saying yes i'd love to help you. I think i found the perfect girl, she is really keen to learn (i'm allowed to provide technical support only). The problem is weather to marry her before or after it's finished....delima delima. We now need to find one...or atleast an XY. Has anyone got any leads for me? Thought i'd share my joy. ORB> |

The first problem....trying to find one that you feel sorry for.
Then put the time, frustrations and money into it. But then its so enjoyable and addictive, specially with both of you involved. Tips.....try to do most of it yourselves, its cheaper and if anything doesnt work out you can only blame yourself, then re-do it. I have consistently found it most difficult to get professionals to do a job to my satisfaction, even ones recommended. Also go to TAFE panel beating or restoration classes to learn how if you dont know. Good luck!! |

As i said i will be providing technical support only.
She would like to be able to stand back and say "i did that" (a feeling we can all relate to), so i'll be leaving everything to her it's the least i can do. Falchoon thanks for that link i'll show the hugs and kisses. |

Hey Orbit
I have just had the same thing happen to me as well MY Missers told me about 6 mths ago thats what she wanted and i have been looking around at a heap of them since and I ended up getting a XW as there was no XYs for the price that was good enough.. One thing i have found out is Paint and Panel is the Hardst judge.. I looked at a heap of half finshed projects and my paint man tells me that I should NOT buy a car in primer No matter how good it looks.. Hope you have better luck in finding one soon .. I looked at 18 cars and done a HEAP of traveling and even got reports from racq/nrma to save me the time.. What is your price limit ?? |

If you're a car enthusiast and like working on cars, I bet you would get right into it after a while. It would be so hard to stand back and watch. |

I'll be there to help in anyway she wants.
We'll start on a smaller project first we decided. Then toward the end of the year early next year look at starting the car...gives us time to find a car that will suit our needs too. So if anyone knows of a falcon ute tub going for sale, PM me! Is there anything sexier then watching a Fine lady Weld.... sorry side tracked. |
