Default New displays at the Ford Discovery Centre - short time only

Hi all,

Just a quick update on two of the newest displays on show at the Ford Discovery Centre in Geelong,Vic.

The first is the orange Focus XR5 driven by Warren Luff in the recent Dutton Rally. The second is the LPG challenge Falcon which recently completed a round Australia trip for under $1000.

These vehicles will only be on show for the next two weeks. If you'd like to see them, don't hesitate or you'll miss them.

If you have any children, we are also running school holiday activities at 11am Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays until the 29th September at no extra charge. Activities include remote control car racing, making car air fresheners, and constructing balloon powered vehicles. Call for more information on what activity is being held each day, or email me fdcinfo@deakin.edu.au (I am out of the office 25th-29th September though)

The Centre is open daily, excluding Tuesdays, between 10am and 5pm.

Phone enquiries 03 5227 8700

-Felicity

I have a question for you, I walk past the discovery center everyday on my way to work. I had a look through the window one day and I have noticed that the EA GT has been badged (the GT on the rear garnish) or was it always like that?

I may have been looking at where the original badge would go (above the GT big) obviously not a custom rear garish! I will double check after work

Good spotting Adam. How on earth can you see the second floor from the footpath?

The EA was incomplete when it was put forward by the Company to become an integral part of our display. The vehicle has been extensively restored but is missing most of its interior and a few badges.

Sorry, I didn't actually answer your question, did I? Sorry about that!

Yes, unfortunately from time to time we get (insert your own term here) people in who think defacing, or pocketing items is acceptable. The badge is sadly a victim of one of these (insert your own term again) people.

The badge went missing after the car was moved to its current and more secluded position. The one that is missing is the one that is missing in the picture Braden posted, it's not the GT badge but the one that sits above that.

No, the EA GT Prototype has always been upstairs, since we opened in 1999. It was along the solid wall at the back, but is now next to our environmetal education area.

Not sure Adam, there's no such thing as an XP GT Let me know when you get back which car it is and hopefully i'll be able to help you out with info.

Perhaps it's the EB GT we have? It's next to the XT GT London-Sydney Rally car.

I believe reports have appeared in the local press Polyal. The car completed the trip in August. Extra information may be attained from Ford Australia Communications.

PS You spelt 'would' incorrectly ;)
