Some of the esp falcons were fitted with turbo kits by mike vine i think in the eightys. I think a turbo six or a v8 but no na six. Gotta have some awesome seats and a two tone paintjob, how could it b a real esp if its not a standout by the way xzlr8 has almost hit the nail on the head. :eclipsee_

stupid idea if you ask me.... They should have left the ESP alone and not distroy a bit of ford history with a poxy sales pitch.
The 2 tone paint scheme just doesnt work on late model cars, it just looks to "made in china" for my liking.

The way I see it, the modern ESP is the Force 6/8. Ignoring the XD ESP, they were all Fairmont Ghias. As nice as it is, making an ESP true to the XE ESP would just be a Force with two tone paint and gold wheels. That's the whole point, it's meant to be in your face.

I'd love to see it, but it's not going to happen.

Very lame use of the name & for badge lovers the real ESPs were never badged as such anyway.

I'm confused - buyers will definatly be confused - ESP stands for Electronic Stability Program nowadays...Introducing the Ford Falcon ESP with DSC...huh!

ok well i took some of your requests and put em into action heaps of different variations and i dont mind the red grill if it was done to a better quality, and i think maybe a bbs or enkei multispoke wheel would look better keep that original concept but a bit more updated then the original gold multispokes (so if anyone has some of those wheels on cars lemme know and ill stick em on). Any feedback lemme know!
Cheers Will,

I hope Im not being a pain, but how about trying the alloy wheels with an alloy grill, and that air scoop under the number plate in alloy.
I think it is better gold with gold,or alloy with alloy..

Nup, gotta be gold. Gold grill was great. Colour code the mirrors and door handles, bring the black to the top of the side mouldings and make it a solid like, not broken up by the mouldings. Needs a buldge :P

Then show us a sliver/charcoal version.

Apologies to you XzLr8 for pinching your work, but this is what I had in mind..

I think some driving lights incorporated into the spoiler area would look good if done right.

Yeap agree, I think the ford marketers are one some ICE...lol :alien2:

edit: with that chop, the door handles are not happening, its a nice touch having them black but colour code them too IMO.

XZLR8 that looks awesome!!! That would be the modern version.... however i dont think Ford would be too thrilled with the idea of two tone :(

well originally it had driving lights in the spoiler i just wanted to keep the original theme of the esp (i dont think they had driving lights, correct me if im wrong) and i see what your talking about but i think it is a bit more practical to have the part of the front bar around the front grill black as it would be one piece if put into production, but hey dis is for fun so WHO CARES LoL

The XEs had the Ghia headlights, which had the "driving" lights of the day.

Correct, any model that had the live rear axle on the AU could be optioned with the IRS that added the ESP monicar to it. Not widely known or marketed but technically any Forte with IRS is an ESP. Seems like it was so much of a secret even Ford have forgotten that.

If ESP isn't fitted to the Fairmont Ghia with the stuff the XD/XE's had like sports seats, better shocks etc its just a cheap rip off of the name. : Bring back Charcoal Black.

The way the range is now they cant compete with holden based on price nor features.
Agree but with BF Mk II XR6 standard 18's are a must as VE SV6 has them.
With BF Mk II XR6T standard 18's are a must as VE SS has them (SS replaces old SV8)
With BF Mk II XR8 standard 19's are a must as well as standard leather VE SS V has them as well as standard leather.
Ford need all the above plus what's mentioned in the the post I replied to compete on features & lets see the price remain the same & that would be very competitive.

I'm really not sure about this rush to 18s & 19s on stock cars. What's the ride like, not to mention replacement costs.

The resurrection of the ESP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.................can't wait to see how FORD muck...........sorry...........stuff...........sor ry.........trip this one up.

The ESP was basically a watered down GT for the pollution strict 80's.
What the hell is it going to represent in FORD's current lineup...........I'm confused, and I want it to happen................Imagine what the average punter is going to think ??????????????

Let sleeping legends lie I reckon............ :

Have Ford said they will use the ESP name or is this just Joe Kenwright dreaming again? They would be mad to use the ESP name given that they use the DSC term for stability control... It would be perfect to beef up an SR model, or the Futura if they want to keep the SR as a periodic value pack.

They wont badge it as an ESP, bascially its a special pack. the SE utes and Magnets are called SVP i think in the factory.

All special value packs are refered to as SVP's.

Interesting you ask this. We have an IS200 in the garage with 16's and when we get it serviced we often get a loan IS200 with 17's. I can tell you right now the noise and ride with the 17's makes it a comparatively unpleasant ride.

I believe there are some cars you drive for comfort, quietness and smoothness (my wife's IS200) and others you drive to 'drive' (my AUXR8 5 speed with 17s).

Why on earth manufacturers would want to waste money on a base model and put wheels that require lower profile tyres beats me. Surely in such a competitive market something would have to give in regards to options elsewhere on the car....such as air conditioning as standard.??
