hey guys just wondering if anyone could tell me where abouts i would find the coil triger wire in a series 2 xr6 ute, its also manual if that makes a difference.

what do you mean by coil trigger wire ? there are 3 of them because it's coil pack ignition or do you mean the tacho feed which has the coil pulses?

i was told to wire up this shift light i have to the coil triger wire, but all i could find is the 3 of them as well, i thought there might have been another wire i was missing or couldnt find. Do u think that wiring up a shift light to work off one of the coil triger wires would still work?

ok you need pin 45 on the ecu to get the clean tacho output so you don't even have to go through the firewall just to the left hand side of the dash
|

well i've hooked up a tacho to behind the cluster and had no problems with it giving false readings. It is the pink wire going to the cluster.

thanks for all your help guys, had another go at it today and finially got it to work properly, ended up using the wires that go into the instrument cluster. Thanks again, will post a couple of photos if you guys wanted to see it
