Default Damn mobile phone club!

God damn it!

It seems I am a member of some stupid mobile phone club, that sends a message to me every week, charging me something like $5 a week!

The thing Is, I cant unsubscribe! Every time I get credit, it disappears double time! Anyone know anything?

It comes from any old number, so I cant ring it, and only says "Ringtone club" then "choose a ringtone" and then some code at the end.... Its pi$$ing me off big time!

Call your network provider and see what they can do about it.

Yea, If its a dodgy company they should be able to block the messages and then you shouldnt get charged, or they find out how too unsubscribe you.

For those of you interested, I rang the club, they said basically any club that sends you sms's from a number beginning with "19", you can reply to the sms with 'stop' (without inverted commas) and they will stop sending them.

I have done it, but am yet to see if they send anymore...

Problem is you (or someone using your phone) subscribed in the first place. A lot of the ring tone ads etc in magazines sign you up when you sms to get a ring tone, wallpaper etc. It's legal and it is in the fine print.
Sucks, but it is a matter of buyer beware....

Let this be a lesson to all, read the fine print.

im all against these sort of 'phone club' things and i think they should be ILLEGAL as well. just think of all the 12-15 year old kids that think "oh cool another ringtone so i can be cool again" and then Whamo! your contracted to a $5 a month (or even week sometimes) club that also charges you $5 to stop it.
consumer groups really need to get onto these companies and outlaw these practices.

Another reason not to put your mobile number on the net, if you selling stuff. Heard that your phone could even be attacked by a virus these days, especially the Bluetooth phones... true or false??

Yup, true, there are viruses that spread to other mobile phones via bluetooth within range - which is why I have bluetooth disabled on my phone, just to be sure.

Just do what I do - use a really old phone with non-color screen and no ability to download ringtons/photos/any other useless crap you don't need.
