ive been given a set of rims of a ford explorer,
what i need to know can i raise my au falcon 1 tonne ute to fit them,they have off road tyres on. they do fit however when i turn the wheel the front ones rub against the inner guards. i know every body else lowers their cars but im different and besides it looks real mean with them fitted. thanks |

they are scrubbing because the tyres are to big. im guessing they are 235 or 245 65 or 70's is that right????

I was tempted to fit my Territory wheels and rubber to the ute (they were 235/60R17) .... but I doubt it'd work ... even when raised ... looks like it'll foul with the inner guards.
Inside the Territory wheel wells ... they are much deeper than the Falcon's. You'd need to remove the plastic inner guards and see how it goes.

Change your front suspension to RTV setup (and get rear raised to match), and you should be OK.

I'm guessing they wouldn't be legal as you would be changing your rollinig diameter would change a bit.

RTV has only slightly higher profile tyres than standard (65 vs 60 series). I have seen an AU ute though with taller 4x4 tyres on it, can't think what the size was & of course don't know what was done to fit them
