OK i know it's been done but i couldn't see a thread for it..........
Pull it all off, degrease and wash. Then you need a plastic primer, colour and a clear coat.... |

nice way to brighten up your engine bay, i love the engine covers on the 8's, really nice bit of gear when theyre done properly.
im not a fan of painting the plastics but to each their own, and youre going about it the right way, so it wont look like crap in a couple of weeks.

Looks good, but should have kept the autobots logo on it.

That looks really really nice. Have you considered picking out the tickford letters in black or something?
Looks like a good colour match too. I used the same method when painting my engine cover, and so far its held up fine to the underbonnet heat and whatnot... Should look better with some airbrushing!

I had an autobots logo on my back window for a while a few years ago.. I spent more time explaining to people what it was, rather than people going " cool transformers! "

yeah, thats the only problem, transformers is old school cartoon....if you want to be "cool" these days, you have to like all these Jap cartoons like "pok-her-mon", "drag-ya-balls Z" etc. give me transformers, flintstones and loonietunes any day!! BTW, whats wrong with collecting toys? if we didnt collect things like that, we would be seen as normal and boring : :

Soundwarp, if you want to get the 'tickford' red like original, get your self a small tin of red gloss enamel and a small artists brush and paint in, it wont matter if you make a mess of it as you wipe up the over paint with turps on a damp cloth. Worked a treat on my car :
