Hey,
Just wondering whether someone can tell me whether this looks like typical head gasket symptoms. I know the pictures probably don't help much, but I just want to make sure as I am not too familiar with them. I am pretty sure the welsch plugs have been replaced in the past year or so. BTW, how do you replace them? Are they hard? There is no water/cloudy substance in the oil. The coolant seems to have disappeared out of nowhere, so that's why I initially suspected a blown head gasket (not to mention that the oil is realllllly low). And no, it's not my car Cheers fellas

About the welch plugs you can just get a screw driver, poke a hole through it, then try and get it out with the screw driver just fiddle around with it then it should come out, sometimes they can be hard as to get out though, when you put the new ones in, give them a real light sand then put some of that sealer stuff on the the out side edge part, and chuck em back in.

You can't just "punch a hole" in the welch plug, they're made out brass lol. You can only do that if they're the factory rusted shit ones and they're ****ed up. If that one's leaking you'll either need to drill it and then poke something in and pull it, otherwise try and punch it out.
More than likely it's your head gasket though. Time to upgrade Lukas! Sundeep |

The symptons clearly look like the time for a new head gasket. On my previous motor, dead on 150,000 I had the same problem. Losing coolant on the side of the block between cylinder 2-3 and 4-5. Still ran fine for bout 2 months though.

Put an AU head gasket in or another high performance one in after you have recod the head.
While your at it, port and polish and throw in a cam.
