Hmmm, a couple of odd claims on that one. At $48k he's dreaming I think, the asking price on a few is right up there at the moment but the selling price might be a slightly different thing. Only a couple of months ago good TE's & TS's were selling under $30k. Whilst I think they "might" get up to the current asking in time, I think there are a few hopeful sellers atm.

Ts50 are not FPV's . But Tickford who made the T series cars is FPV's daddy! :

Well this is taken from the history of FPV

[edit] History
FPV can trace its roots back to 1991, when the Prodrive-owned Tickford joined with Ford Australia as their tuning division. The Ford Australia/Tickford partnership produced the original Falcon XR6 and XR8 models. In 2000, the FTE (Ford-Tickford Engineering) outfit was formed in an effort to counter Holden Special Vehicles. It was under the FTE banner that the acclaimed T-Series was launched.

FTE's products were generally well-received, but sales were below targets. In 2002, Ford Australia launched the all-new BA Falcon. To complement the launch of the new Falcon, Ford decided that FTE needed a radical makeover. The FTE name was replaced with the new Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV) moniker, an all-new range was devised (headlined by a new FPV GT, based on the Ford Falcon), and all Tickford branding disappeared

Ford Tickford Experience was the name associated with the specialist dealers that sold the FTE (FordTickford Engineering) range.

Bent_8 the conception of the ts50 was that of Happy Jack, one of his greatest legacies to stick it to the dark side.

Regardless of who had the idea the fact is Ford, 51% owners and Prodrive49% owners joined forces in the early 90's to form a development programme for the Falcon.
In 1999 Ford realised that they needed a recognisable name apart from the presumed 'in house' Tickford brand XR series and so promoted the specialist tuner in FTE.
Along with the FTE road car programme came the race team of FTR led by Glenn Seton.
This was superseeded in 02 with the introduction of the BA to FPV and promoted through the FPR race team that is today.

So the point is FTE was in essence a joint partnership between the manufacturer and the specialist tuner although only recognisable by the 'Tickford' name plate from '91 to '99 and not officially a speciallist tuner like HSV is to Holden until '99 ,2000.
The XR series was available to be purchased through any Ford dealer and the FTE 't' series was available through specialist dealers under Ford Tickford Experience.

It was Ford and Tickford Vehicle Engineering that joined forces in the early 90's, Prodrive didn't come along till 2002 to form FPV with 51% ownership.
