Great to see Fiesta + Focus moving up compared to previous results (if i recall it was about half maybe same time last year). The higher than normal results might have something to do with the "everyone is different" advertisment on TV.

Its just a matter of time that peeps realise what they are missing out on compared to its rivals.

2,520 Falcons...and that's with the runout deals happening.

392 Mondeos is pretty disappointing too. I attribute this to the non-existent marketing - it's not as though there is anything wrong with the car.

Pretty sure 392 Mondeos is a good result. Sounds like they are selling all they can get their hands on because I remember reading they only import 300 a month?

They have those really crappy ads on TV, I see them all the time. You know the ones with the dumb quotes from celebrities and then the line "The new Ford Mondeo, more than just good looks..."

So I wouldn't say it's non-existent - just very bad. But it's Ford, no supprises really... I wonder if they're still using the same marketing department they had when the Model-T was released... (and yes I hope they're reading this!!! :P)

I don't think the Falcon result is that bad for this time of year, with the FG just a stone's throw away...

From what I've been told most Mondeo customers want the diesel and as usual, supply is a bit light on.

I wouldn't call it disappointing - pretty good considering how old the range is. Remember, everyone knows the FG exists now - unless you hated it (which you shouldn't) who would buy a BF? Fiesta sales are good, as are Focus. This must be the best month in a while actually...

I attribute it to a great car being sold by a poor quality dealer network.

All Ford models should be selling better.

Mondeo will take a while to get started... dont forget the new 6 and accord will offer some stiff competition.

new focus and fiesta out next year so things are looking rosey.

Mondeo has also been affected by the up coming FG. Being only slightly smaller many ready to buy have held off waiting for the comparison in pricing and design. Predictions were around 300 per month so not doing to bad.

Not correct.

Falcon being in runout mode this time means carefully planned production. Production numbers were basically finalised late last year. This meant that production was cut to suite what dealers can sell. There is no point in having thousands of Falcons gathering dust well into FG.

Wonder if Holden will lose sales of the Rodeo once it changes it's nameplate to Colorado, after losing the right to use the nameplate due to selling off Isuzu

The old lady get showered with Roses etc. when she has her Camry fixed at Toyota, whilst the old man cops sly 'WTF are you doing here' glances from ciggie weilding staff at the Holden dealership, sums it up pretty much.

Real shame some of the stats where the Daewoo is outselling cars that are sooo much better it's not funny, as has been said, the public feel good about supporting an all aussie product, lol.

A lot of people dont know - most people on here are enthusiasts so we take it for granted that everyone knows a cars origin - A lot of people I talk too have no idea - My mates girlfriend was interested in a Captiva, because she loves Holdens - I advised her, that is actually a Daewoo re badged as a Holden - she thought that because it wears the Holden badge its an Aussie car.

But you are correct a lot of people dont value the made in Aus tag - would be interesting to know how many dont value it or how many are completely oblivious to where the car is made.

I think the Falcon isn't going too bad as it's in runout. The Aurion is too close for my liking though.

I have my fingers crossed the the "European" FG Falcon will go gangbusters when released.

In Britain Ford is a well respected brand often assosciated with "prestige", "quality" and "performance". Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Ford the best seller in Britain.

I hoping that the "european" connection they have been trying to breed since the AU will start to pay dividends.

We will have to face the facts. New car buyers these days aren't "Australian" anymore. They are euro-culture upper class wannabes. They aspire to own a BMW but if they can't afford it they want a "euro-styled" Corolla.

I can't believe the Aurions sell. We have fleet Aurions at work and one of the managers has atop of the line luxury Aurion. They are both the freakin same: same engine, same transmission the only difference I have picked so far is leather seats??

Thank God Toyotas days are numbered. Their bland product philosophy will see them eaten alive by the Koreans and Chinese who are improving at break neck speed and the likes of Hyundai STILL build performance cars unlike Toyota.

Get your head out of the sand would ya? How is your analogy any different to that of an FG XT and an FG G6? The pure difference is that Toyota offer the best of the mechanical package at its lower level and don't suffer the lower buying level.

The Presara has a great amount of things in it, a few that even the FG G6E should have but it wont - satellite navigation and reverse camera anybody?

As for the second half of that comment, days are numbered? Toyota are the automotive powerhouse of the world, and will remain that way for some time to come. If they see they need sports cars, you'll see them - as displayed at MMS with the FT-HS there to gain response to a hybrid powered sports car.
