hey fellas i have a quick question regarding the s1 brakes.
i recently got new pads all round and the rear rotors machined, all was good till about a week after this was done, now the pedal makes a sound as if its letting out air as you push it down, also the pedal is quite hard, you have to push it extremely hard to keep the car stopped, sometimes pressing the pedal doesn't slow the car at all then i'd push a bit harder and it'd do an emergency brake. anyone have any idea what could be wrong? maybe air in the system? brake booster problem? |

what's an emergency brake, a skid?
also, check that the line to your brake booster is on and ok and yes, it does sound like a bit of a booster problem perhaps

DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR!!!
Your brake booster is leaking!! The rubber in the diaphram goes hard and cracks..series 1 brake boosters are the shame of ford moco and nothing short of criminal. If you keep driving this car you will lose your brakes!!! Get a new booster installed!!

I know the feeling.. my brakes are a major issue... i have a soft peddle... and am looking into a booster upgrade... but thats with a prevously purched S2 XR8 unit :P otherwise its off the the wrecker for a better one :P

hehe ... mhm split brake booster mate ;)
btw the front outer casing cracks also, when extractors are installed without heatshielding, my old EF is on brake booster No3. also any brakebooster from EF through to AU3 bolts on
