I'm gearing up to run the XR5 in a supersprint at oran park at the end of the year and I need a set of running shoes.
I've decided that a set of 2nd hand 18" XR rims are just too damned expensive (there's a fire damaged set on ebay for $600 : ) especially considering that they're only going to be used a handful of times a year, if I'm lucky. Couple that with the fact that 18" 'race' tyres are a hell of a lot dearer than other sizes and it's looking like a pricey way of doing things. So, I know theres a few of you lot that have changed wheels lately and have a set of wheels sitting around ****ing off your missus in the garage so here's your chance to clear em out!. I'm after 17's preferably, but provided they'll clear the brakes i'll look at 16's (even steelies!!!) With or without tyres, doesn't bother me. If they're with tyres they'll only end up doing some motorkhanas and get munted anyway so if they're stuffed, all the better I don't care what they look like (unless they're chrome : ) and the cheaper the better. I'm in sydney and I'm looking to pick them up rather than ship them. So drop me a line if you've got some to get rid of.

I can "loan" you 2 x 18x7.5" with 55mm offset. No tyres though.
Where in Sydney are you?

I'm in Sydney, have full set of LS Zetec 17" rims for sale, with near-bald Maxxis MA-Z1s on them (on the wear indicators) but still provide excellent grip except at speed in pooled water.
PM me an offer to concider, I'm a bit hesitant to let them go. I can get pics if needed.

18s are to pricey to get tyres for. Might be interested in those 17s though. Will pm shortly

why dont check if the wreckers have a set of 16's or 17's from a non xr5 focus?i assume they would fit and they should be quite cheap. and if you bend one it would be easy to get another one.

Good idea, I don't know many wreckers in Sydney tho, and my usual haunts pick n payless and northern auto wreckers don't stock foci. Northern auto might, but pnp definately don't.
