Default Useless cup holder

Hi all, I have a 2007 focus TDCi bought as ex demo with 2000 km on the clock.
Something Ive been wondering for a while is wheather im missing an insert of some sort from my cup holder in the centre console or does focus have the worlds most useless cup holder. Havent had the chance to check any others. Cans just fall over under acceleration, braking and cornering. Are the cans supposed to be held in position and remain stable?
Heres a pic I took with my phone. Thanks

Yes, it does look like your missing a rubber insert.

Yeah the old 2x3 cup holder. 2 Normal cans and 3 small Energy Drink Cans, I like the Falcon FG's cup holder, has a square shape suitable for Iced Coffee Cartons..... mmmmmmm

At least its got one. I get the poos when I borrow dads ED, buy my daily coffee and walk back to the car, just to realise I have to sit around 10min while it cools enough to drink it before I leave!!!

It makes a good sunglasses holder provided you insert your own material as padding.

I don't think it can hold bigger bottles though.
My 1 litre mount franklin sits on the passenger seat....

Thanks all for replies. Thats interesting why they wouldnt put it in TDCi as it is the second most expensive after the XR5.

Even with the insert, its pretty useless. Its too close to the shifter. And under hard acceleration, the drinks nearly topple over. I use it to hold my garage remote and my phone.

I get a super large Slurpee cup into my LV XR5 cup holder. It seems OK around corners to.

My TDCI has one, I think it was actually missing when I picked the car up from new and the salesman put it in.
the less than adequate cup holders are less than adequate but the centre console storage space is a bigger joke, can only fit receipts or some small change and then both are full. I don't know why ford designed the lid on the top one.
