To me the reasons last year was so "disasterous" was due to many things.

- So close to new years (Scrutineering was on New Years day)
- The poor treatment of Gary Myers from the previous year
- Too many standard cars with a body kit and a set of wheels.
- Too much rice

I could go on, but they are some of the main reasons I could think of

I'm glad to hear (or not hear) that there wasn't any violence, or abuse on the news again unlike last years rioting d-head bogans shouting for boobs.

You obviously weren't there... lots of bogans shouting for boobs, lots of smashed people. And media reports one assault charge.

The thing that saved it was the attendance. I haven't seen Summernats so empty. Usually it's 5 people deep long the whole cruise route... lots of gaps this year.

That report is Horse .

It appears people who have a thing for cars other than driving from A-B are now all "Hoons"

If they scrutinised normal traffic as much as they target events like Summernats, then I bet they would have a higher hit rate.

I thought the nats wasnt to bad this year.. Not as many drunken idiots as when i went to summernats 21.. Definitely a lot less people then the past few years. Also alot of big names weren't there which surprised me.. A few i noticed missing were Gary Myers and his mustangs etc, Mark Dallaqua (spelling?) and his escorts, the ATRISK xr falcon, Rob Godfreys TOYTON ute. Few more I can't think of at the moment. Was another show on or did they just not show up?

haha, sorry. Still bogans there shouting for boobs, but definitely no riots or anything. At on point one of the security guys (looked like Vulcan from Gladiators) was being abused by the "bogan mob". They were yelling "Vulcan sucks" and abusing him for trying to keep them away fromt he cars and stopping cars doing big skids right next to crowded parts... kind of sucks that there are so many brainless people around.

Worst I saw was a really smashed bloke trying to grab a girl's chest... she was about 14! Her boyfriend (or mate) was ready to punch on. I just thought it was pretty wrong to be trying to feel up a gil like that, especially a really young one.

The motor from the atrisk falcon was in the Orange XBACON falcon.

This was my first year and it was ok prob wont go again.
Most people were good but there were some idiots there.

I didn't think it was that bad this year on previous years. There were still people shouting for boobs but it was pretty tame this year. Most probably because of low numbers in both entrants and spectators. I did see that TOYTON ute on a trailer heading towards Camberra on Sunday when we were leaving about 10am. Maybe he turned up just for Sunday.
