Medley v. Mundine 11/1/10

What is everyone take on this one. Would love to see Medley put Mundine back in his box, probably wont happen but I can dream.

Mundine playing funny buggers with weight as well, typical. Too stingy to fork out for Mainevent here, but if someone could give us the result it would be great.

Keen to know it too.
Mundine hid behind the whole weight issue so he didnt get smashed in a title fight.
I would love to see someone seriously nail Mundane.

I would have liked to have seen Kariz win that one, but he's not aggressive enough. There were a few fights in the series which didn't go the way i thought they should have..

Spot on Flapper but he has never got a dime from me and never will.

True montyv8 some decisions were wrong but thats the mug sport it is, your right Kariz needed to come out of the blocks to match Woods sooner or later he would have had where he wanted to land one of those crackers he has !

Any chance medley had went out the window when mundane couldn't make 154. He's the best in australia, but that's it. A big fish in a small pond.

Same feeling here. I thought Nader deserved to win his last contender fight.

I was surprised Wood didn't lose a point last night the amount of warnings he had to step back.

Well said, but the likes of Hilton, Beckham and the like are so often adored by the younger generation.

I suppose getting a bit older usually leads to a little more clarity on the whole cult of celebrity thing.

He wouldn't be the first big mouth boxer. Just look at Ali, no-one talked more and got under their opponents skin as much Ali did. It's a great strategy. Worked flawlessly against Green, and makes for some of the best boxing matches.

See if he is still "the man" after 30 seconds against a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or MMA fighter.

Ali was a legend that beat legends to become one, Mundines a knob who with the exception of Danny green has only beaten bums, so he has no right to be cocky or to be even mentioned in the same breath as Ali or any other great fighters. Not saying he isnt a bad fighter cause he is he just ruins any credability he could have by opening his f--kn mouth. He is nowhere near the best boxer in Australia you forgetting Vic Darchanyin and Danny Green you may say yeh but Mundine beat green on points but he only did so in a lighter weight division knowing it would take the power out of his punches and 1 week after the death of Greens neice. Mundines just a very poor imitation of Roy Jones or atleast trys to be and you saw what happened to him.

I still laugh at him laying ko'd by that German fellow (sven Otke or simmilar?). Shame he learnt his lesson and wont fight any good Mexican or Americans.

Im not a fan of him but have met him a few times and when there isnt a camera infront of his face he is actually very quiet and subdued. He puts it on for the camera and for his sport and its paying dividends for him. Love him or hate him he will be remembered and thats all he wants.

True, I think that a few points went against Wood for his warnings. But Kariz didn't seem agressive enough or hungry enough. Wood just wanted it more. To have blood streaming down your face like that and still throwing punches like crazy would not be easy.

Was also disappointed that the 'Grudge match' ended early. That would have been a good fight.

To be honest, I have never given him the time of day. Not once watched one of his fights. He does nothing for me with his BIG MOUTH, hence he doesn't deserve my money or me wasting my time.
In my eyes, he's a thug who hasn't been silenced yet and will never be in the same league as Ali, Rocky M or Danny Green for that matter (Danny Green has a compassionate side to his personality which added character which appeals to many).
Personally, I dislike "The Man" and the way he goes about his business. It is unfortunite that he portarys himself as a big mouth thug as it does little for the sport due the fact that the younger people see it as ok to be a fool. How do I know? I used to train younger people in the art and gave it up a few years ago because they felt that being a thug and having little respect was the way to go.
That's just my opinion and it accounts for nothing here .......

I watched a doco on Cassius Clay about a month or so again, in that doco it showed his tactics in defeating bigger, stronger fighters.
He fought a bloke twice his size who most believed would kill him.

How did he do it, he had the guy thinking he was truely mad by way of his mouth.
Apparently from the accounts when this guy saw how he carried on in the lead up to the fight it made him cautious as he wasnt just fighting another fighter, he was fighting what he considered a nutcase.

There's no doubt Mundine is a few snags short, but he plays the part so well...

That reminds me of some Eddie Murphy standup when he steps on a guys shoes or something. Dialogue as follows:
