Post Focus Zetec Loud noise when accelerating

Hey all,

Car: 2005 LS Ford Focus Zetec Auto/Triptronic

I was wondering if anyone else has had any similar problems to me with my car. I have a "vibration" noise coming from the engine block, when i accelerate on a hill or i accelerate too hard off.
At first i thought it was an exhaust problem as it was quite intermittent, but now i have to accelerate like a grand mother, there is no loss of power when i accelerate normally, just an loud grumble. A mate of mine said it sounds like a gear box problems - I suspect it might be (but hoping its not),
If anyone has any idea of what it is and what i should do.

- it happens at about 1900 to about 2700 rpm
- it happens when on a hill or under load
- vibration can be felt in pedals

Thanks in advance

Spaldog

Could be engine mounts too by the sound of it. Get your local mechanic to have a look. How long since the tranny was serviced? How many kms has the car done?

Yer i got a mate to service it at 60000 Kms (thats when he had a look at it) and its done about 3500 kms. Im not sure the last time the transmission was serviced. Do you think it needs immediate attention?

Cheers
