Default 94 Unleaded cheaper than standard at independent service station

Hey guys,
Just thought I'd share this.

Tonight I was informed by a friend of mine over facebook that the local "Liberty" petrol station had 94 unleaded for 1c (per litre) cheaper than regular unleaded.
I obviously jumped in the car straight away to check this out, first off I cruised past the local "BP", then past "Caltex" *to check their prices* I then went to "Liberty" where 94 was in fact much cheaper than regular at both "Caltex" and "BP".

Funnily enough, there wasn't a massive lineup of cars, it was practically empty.

I really don't understand the world.

[Price for 94 was 139.9c, Price for Regular was 140.9c]

Unfortunately I could only get $20 worth as Thursday is pay day :(
Anyone else have any of these weird stories to tell?

- Matt

I didn't see any sign saying that the 94 had any ethanol in it...

Freedom Fuels sell E10 91RON ULP for nearly 10c per litre cheaper than the BP up the road sell their E10 91RON ULP for. On a very regular basis. Would be interesting to hear the explanation for that one....

Oh and quality cant really be a debate, as Ive done at least 60,000kms on Freedom in the Fairmont with zero problems.

shells E10 is 94 octane too and in my mitsubishi challenger daily i get a lot better economy from shell fuel than BP's E10 91 octane. also find the shell e10 and std unleaded roughly the same price, maybe a swing of 1-2c at the most either way
