I am with iinet. No contract, just month by month. My only issue is the amount of money it costs me because I am rural and have to pay for iinet to lease telstra lines.

How much usage do you get per month? I was looking at their Dial-Up plans, for like $25 a month.
I only want about 10-15gb per month, and don't want a contract as it may not get used every month.

Whoever you go with make sure you buy your own modem. Good ones can be had cheap, especially at Dick Smith and Harvey Norman (one of the only things they're good for).
For the record I'm with Telstra, their ADSL2 in my area is awesome sauce.

I signed up the inlaws with a deal when they moved, 10gb download on ADSL2+ and home telephone on a real line for $40 a month. The company escapes me, but TPG had the same deal, just didn't service their area. Try researching Whirlpool.net for deals. |

Dial up is a last resort thing. The cheapest ADSL is $39. If your wanting net for Xbox your best bet is to look at spending about $50pm. I am not sure how many do it, but with iinet Xbox live is quota free, so it won't even count on your data. |

I gave IInet a call, they seem like the ones to go through.
They offered me, initial start up of $79.95 And then 10gb on/10gb off for $39.95 or 50gb on/50gb off for $59.95. The above is for ADSL2+ .. And my house is located under 2KM from the 'tower exchange' so apparently i'll get better than elsewhere? Quote:
Depending what 'quota free' means, will pend my decision. Does quota free, mean that it won't affect how much i download/upload? I'm 90% positive i have a modem at home that will suit perfectly my needs, if not i will go and purchase one.

I'm on Optus cable. 120gb a month on the $49 plan.
You can get on a month to month but you need to pay for a connection fee and modem and the deals aren't as good.

Bigpond ADSL 2+ 200gb bundled with home phone for $88.00 per month, got a free wifi modem too. Extremley happy with the speed for a country town 80km from Melbourne. I'm lucky enough to be .5km from the exchange tho. I can only use Telstra resellers :(
Alot better then my old 1500 plan with Dodo - was stuck on a Rim, so Telstra 1500 was a good as it got.

Optus Cable. Have been since ~2001. Currently on a 250/250 Plan, which for our use is basically unlimited. Can't fault them - never had a down day, never had a drop out, and the SurfBoard modem has never been turned off, and wont die.
Very happy with Optus.
