hi,
I've just managed to pick up an SCT 3000AU flasher from a mate who used it on his turbo BA, but since returned it back to stock and sold it. He didn't use the SCT for anything other than flashing a custom file he had, so doesn't really know much about it. The instructions for it bare little resemblance to what I see in the menus. It does say that when you select custom tune, you can edit various parameters such as rpm cut off, fueling, idle, ignition advance etc. In reality, it doesn't appear to let you do any of this and the only option is to flash my car (5.4 V8 3v) with one of the custom tunes already in the device (for the turbo). I was hoping at least to be able to get my current tune and edit simple things like idle, but there's no option to do this even. Has anyone had any experience with these things? Can the SCT only programme a previously supplied custom file and nothing to do with editing a current tune? Thanks for any help

Need to take it to a Tuner and get the unit unlocked to your cars VIN number and get a custom tune, can't do it any other way, the unit is useless to you as it sits currently without going to a tuner.

It will copy your current tune as the factory tune when you upload a tune into the ecu, assuming it has been unlocked by the previous owner.
The problem is you need a tune to suit your car on the x3 before you can use it. Assuming you had a tune to load, you can not make changes to the tune which will be stored as your factory tune. You will only be able to make adjustments to any of the other tunes which have been loaded into the unit as long as the person who has loaded them has enabled end user options, if they have not, then no adjustments will be accessible
