Default replacing standard ba icc

Hi I am in the process of replacing the standard ICC in my ba xr8 ute with another because in the process of installing a aftermarket sound system we have fried the ICC.

What do i need to use from my existing unit to the replacement unit for everything to work properly ie air-con, remote locking, cd player? What is involved in decoding the new unit, and is it just the cd player that gets decoded or does everything have to get programmed to the car?

Cheers, Aaron

If I wished to look at upgrading a basic screen setup in a BF XR6 and was only after the colour screen what is required for the swap? its single zone AC with single CD so do I need a colour screen ICC from a BA/BF with a similar setup single AC/ CD player and retain my old BEM + door locks OR do i need to replace the BEM also as the screen is changing? Thanks

Cheers, we sourced a replacement ICC and just had to swap the cd players. All is working except needs a decode but thats no biggy, I'm just glad my air con works again lol.

Also just out of curiousity, where is the sensor that apparently stuffs up the unit if it gets rotated the wrong way? We have assumed that it was the part hooked to the remote locking that hooks onto the side of the cd player and is wrapped in black tape, so we took extra care to make sure that we didn't turn rotate anything.

Hi. There is no sensor. All the ford book says is not to put the icc down on it "class A finished face" asscratches are not covered by ford warranty and if the unit is a 6 stacker don't turn it upside down and shake it as the cd's can dislodge from the holders in the unit. Cheers MD

hi

as long the icc u using for the upgrade have the same specs off ur old icc then all u need is to use your bem and central locking sensor off ur old icc and fit on the new one where after you will need a ford dealer to use their ids to bypass the code

cheers
