Default Fitch Fuel Catalyst

Has anyone on here had any experiance with the "Fitch Fuel Catalyst's" ?

i just put one on my EA and it has made a massive difference to the throttle response and i have only driven it once and only for 20-30kms. if it does what it is suspost to (in terms of lower fuel consumption and cleaner oil) then it will be awesome

If you want to believe tha a string of magnets does something magical to your fuel than good on ya....
go get yourself some magnets from Mitre 10 and build it yourself...

If they worked car company's would already be using them with today's emissions standards and fuel prices

What he said...

As with magical fuel tank tablets, magnets on the fuel lines, HiClone rubbish clogging up your inlet tract, and hydrogen generators, if any of them worked, long long ago one of the major manufacturers would have bought out the rights, tied them up with patents, and used them as an exclusive marketing tool..."our simple device we fit to all our new vehicles improves your economy by up to 25%! The other guys don't do that!".

Basically, you can't get something for nothing, there's no such thing as a free lunch, and if they use the magic term "UP TO X% economy improvement", then you know that they're fooling you.

Then there's simple old confirmation bias...after fitting one of these expensive devices, you knowingly or unknowingly start driving "better", more efficiently, and this is probably where any improvement comes from rather than some device that does nothing but empty your wallet...

we cut one up (different brand) a couple of years ago where i worked, it was off a wreck.
land rover wrecking yard / service centre btw.
it had been fitted for under a year, going by the production date on the item.
there was around 15 large metal discs in there, they were about 20mm round x 10mm thick.
none of it was magnetic either?,
it looked like bits of steel that had been punched out in a press.
maybe scrap from a production of something?
there were some big bits of dirt etc that had got caught up inside between the discs too.
a few days later i found the same brand selling on ebay for $150...lol
i couldnt/wouldnt recommend them

Petrol would not contain any ferrous material, so what the hell would the magnets do?

32.66L of fuel

Air con on all the way

2 adults, 1 15y/o in the car

10.065L/100kms...

i dunno. it seems to be doing some of what they say..

but more driving needed, as this is first drive i can take notice of, as untill now i was running a dodgy HEGO which was making it run rich and use like 13L/100

10.0 l/100 km sounds about right for those conditions on the highway.
My BA II regularly got 8.8-9.0 l/100 km with only me in the car.

All i can say right now is that it doesn't make fuel consumption worse. But I do have ninety day money back and my uncle is testing one on his partrol do if he also think they don't do much we will send them back at the moment I'm fifty fifty with it but I'll give it a chance as Is my uncle. After all it is good to try " new " things

10L/100km's is a bit excessive still... I did 500km's of hard thrashing and burnouts in an otherwise stock EF Manual wagon yesterday (AU injectors, AU XR FPR) and continuously got 8.9-9.2L/100kms (once at 9.8, after it was idling for 10 mins)

Unless its a really heavy foot your driving along the highway with, id say 10L/100km's is a bit excessive, but not bad for an old e-series

Why do I find this difficult to believe. is that 490KM of freeway with 10KM of traffic light GP to the speed limit w/ burnouts?

I think your tyre bill and perhaps the fines would have cut your trip short at about 1KM if you were crawling it sideways up the freeway.

I believe you've answered your own question right there at the end...if you were running something that "made it run rich", then took that off or replaced it, and then fitted the magical catalyst, then what do you atribute the new economy figures to? Isn't it far more likely that you "fixed" the economy by removing or fixing what you knew for a fact was making it use more fuel?

Typing on the iPhone means I can't really proofread stuff easily (small screen), so the above post has been modifed...

no no, i was refering to fuel consumption prior to running the dodgy HEGO, prior to the engine bay fire and the mad frenzy of replacing stuff from a car with 330,000 kms on it. i have since replaced as much stuff back to my orginal stuff (or new stuff) as i can (or as much as is needed).

like i'm saying the above figures is the first drive with the car running as it should. with the fitch. i was running the fitch and the dodgy HEGO for about 500kms, and even with the dodgy HEGO it made it use less, and have more power. but. prior to the fire when everything was in A1 condition, i could still never get better then 10.5 - 11.5L to 100km ono average.

Wow I can't believe anyone would even entertain the idea that something like this would work. A fool and his money are soon parted.

You should see if you can find one of Peter Brocks "Energy Polarizer's" sounds like they were made for you.
