I check Warwick News quite often, and find the Judges to be out of touch with reality. Ive seen everything from wife bashings, to multiple car thefts used in robberies only to be slapped on the wrist
Now hooning isnt as bad as the previously mentioned, BUT i do know that people who are caught face massive fines and loss of licence. Apparently not in this case, gotta love the reasoning behind the doughnuts, and why the judge let him keep his licence http://www.warwickdailynews.com.au/s...-dad-in-court/ Quote:

So after he gets used to the V8 and heavy pedals he will be doing better donuts? a 180 isn't very impressive, but I will accept his excuse for not completing a 360.

So what, that doesnt sound dangerous in the slightest! Doing 60 through the CBD of any city is more dangerous than a slight wheelspin, or quick u turn!
Probably shouldnt say, but my 2 year old loves doing "circles" and making heaps of dust in the paddock! Have you seen Roary the racing car? (a hooning racing car and his hooning car mates that hoon around doing donuts on normal roads/beaches/ race tracks etc etc!) Thats hilarious! Would be banned if the Govt/cops noticed it! No wonder 2 year olds love a few donuts! |

I enjoy hearing of hoons cars being crushed in front of them. Sadly, it doesn't happen enough. Why are the courts so lenient on these morons??

Need to start issuing licenses for people to be parents...
Could this clown not have dropped the kid home then proceed to be a moron on the streets without the child inside ??? Reckless and stupid, no need for it on the streets, with or without kids in the car, these bogans make all car enthusiasts look bad

I'm a tad more maternal than most people I know, so if I ever did something like this I'd expect the book to not just be thrown, but fired from one of those navy railguns at my face.
Putting yourself in danger is one thing, putting a 2yo child in danger is another. I can enjoy a good burnout etc, I'm not saying I've always been a saint myself, but there is a time and place. |

So what's different from say having a 6 year old in the car while out on the pad? I'm sure this bloke didnt do it anywhere near any form of danger.

I used to work for emergency services, go ask any of the ambos how 'scarred' he'll be the one time it goes pear shaped.
Nanny state bs aside, he was being a nob, got caught, they let him off. /Moralising for the night |

It's very hard to argue against the do gooders. Speeding/Hooning is against the law and to support it is difficult. But of course we all know and have felt like the authorities use a sledgehammer to kill an ant.
We all know of examples of stupidity the give the authorities some form of justification for coming down on the rest of us. Doing a 1/2 a donut with a 2 year old is unacceptable. So where is the line? 16, 12, 8, 6 ? where is the line. I'm not sure. Perhaps its just simpler not to do a skid with the kids in the car.

just goes to show that a solicitor is worth their money in every sense of the word, and a judge in a good mood makes life a little easier haha

Im all for crushing hoon cars... If we get to shoot thieves. I got booked for speeding, not too long after having my house robbed. Guess who got the worse punishment. Makes me sick that if you steal peoples stuff, you still get off lighter then the honest bloke enjoying his car. I would be alot more dirty about it if i actually got done with a hooning offence.

as a parent and a grandfather and also having been in attendance to many accidents where kiddies were present ...........I must say my skin crawled when I read this
our role as a parent is to protect our little ones as much as possible against as many things as we humanly can many things can go wrong when doing something stupid in a car including fire and collision which some folks simply dont think about nor could possibly foresee does anyone TRULY think this environment is okay for a 2 year old or a child of any age for that matter I honestly wonder sometimes whether some people should be allowed the greatest privilege in life and am amazed at the thought processes of some
