Default Cloudy headlights - any fix?

Hi guys

Just went to get a Road worthy on my car and told I need to fix my headlights. They're really cloudy (the covers) almost like the plastic is corroding on the inside.

Is there any fix for this? The guy reckons he knows someone who can fix it for $100 but I'm not sure.

Any ideas?

This member posted a download link, with instruction, on how to do it myself. One week on, the unit hasn't played up once. Three different dealers told me to virtually 'Live with it.

You could try this but if it's on the inside you may need to pull the headlights apart.

Is it the inside or is it the outside.
If its the outside, hit it with the buffer and some fine cut polish and it will come up as new.

Yup on the inside unfortunately. Not sure how to even get the headlights off.

I've never seen headlights damaged on the inside unless they were submerged in water, or melted with high powered globes.

3M do a good restoration kit.

Its a common problem on cougars. You can use any headlight restoration kit. I tried the one from Autobarn. Works great. I used on mine and they are like new. You need to have a bit of patience and do as advised in instructions without skipping steps.

I would suggest to take head lights out to do this. Its easy to take them off. Just 2 bolts and loosen up third and unplug electrical plug, it will pop out. You will find instructions in owners manual.
