I heard today that there was a factory fire at one of Ford's parts suppliers in Melbourne, and it's held up cars on the production line. Anyone know anything about that?

The fire was at Venture DMG and happened a couple of weeks ago. Venture has been great, working with us and other affected companies, to find alternative supply arrangements while they work to get their facility up and running. It has affected our production as we've had to hold some cars waiting for parts but, as the parts are all the chrome highlighting, it didn't stop production and they can be 'easily' (says me who doesn't have to actually do it :-)) retrofitted afterwards.

I was sitting down the road from ford the other day and watched a mob of fire trucks attend some going on.
Didnt see smoke or anything obviously untoward si i gather it wasnt critical. |
