Default Had a good run with the BA tray back

I have done 9000 ks in the last 2 months with the ute. Before I left I fitted a trans cooler from a Commodore. Cut the lines from the radiator with a grinder, and used trans hose to the cooler. Hanging with cable ties 6 inches in front of the A/C cooler. Dropped 5 litres of tranny fluid and did the filter .
Changed the oil with Penrite 10/40.
Drove from Cairns to Halls Creek in WA through the hottest days of last year. Then from Halls Creek to the NT/SA border through the hottest days of the year. Then from Kulgera to Pt Augusta through blah blah then to the Riverland.
I replaced a staked tyre . Did another 4 litre drop of the tranny(just in case).
The rear wheel bearings sound the same as when I left. The stuffed struts are a little louder when bonking . Getting replaced on Monday.
I carried all my gear and a motor bike,at 130kmh most of the time.Average 12.7l/100. . Mostly daytime driving. Engine used NO oil.
Car has 272,000 ks.
What a truly GOOD car!!!
Mark

They are a ripper ute and by the sounds of it you've got a really good one. It all depends on how the car is looked after...If it's serviced regularly and things replaced before they cause too much trouble then they can provide years of trouble free motoring.
Like my dad always said "If you look after your car, Your car will look after you".

The trans cooler is because they have a problem with crappy transmissions. I had a AU to ner and did 3 trannies in 100k. City driving and not much weight. I got the hooker fyom a wreckers . As long as it was big and cheap, I didn't care where it came from.

At a guess I'd say he meant why did you use a cooler from a Holden. Ie. why not use one designed for the falcon. Is there any benefit to using the Holden one?
