Hmm try searching around here, there was one I remember a few years ago. Pretty hard to find info, alot of Ford people wont even know what your talking about.

What do you need?

Thanks - ive seen santos posts & page - so far the best available - but from what I have learned APV was a team who produced after Peter Brock left (before he did the B8) my car is APV compliance plate stickers & all I want to learn all that I can about it - even though a tree jumped out at me 2 months ago -I have no panel beating ability & no budget - but a serious lover may want parts - I am trying to decide wether I should strip it - or wait till I win lotto - or just keep using her for my back yard lounge room - nice on the outside - well used to be - but Fairmont ghia with the whole works inside including the apv seats - very late model with digital speedo etc 7th month - they shut down in the 12th - paint & seat protection - sound deadener & rust proofing when she was new - 275k & only non original part is the exhaust - had to get a cheapie
I have complete history (receipts) from day of purchase up till that exhaust - I cannot bear to trash her - ill never have another chance with a car like that - this year its an el gli wagon - how #king boring - but it is great for fishing & camping.

I don’t know anything about an APV RS3900 other than what I’ve just googled.

If this car is as rare as you say, it would be sacrilegious to part it out.

If you don’t want to repair it then at the very least test the air and offer it for sale as a complete repairable wreck before taking the drastic option of ridding the planet of a rare car.

You never know, someone out there with the skills and/or cash may love to own it.
