Default All-new F 150 revealed!

http://www.autoblog.com/2014/01/13/2...-2-7-ecoboost/

The front, rear and inside look good but that side profile looks a tad old. Maybe they're going with a keep-it-simple-stupid mentality?

Main points:
93% of the body is an aluminum
320kgs lighter than the old model
2.7L EcoBoost V6 with stop-start introduced
Also comes with a 3.5L NA V6, Ecoboost 3.5 V6 and the 5.0L V8

The 2.7 nano engine finally appears, a lot of hype surrounding these engines.
700 pounds of weight is impressive and should keep Ford on top in this segment for years to come.

Geesus I didn't think they could improve on the original Ecoboost F150....Now all Aluminium hey.....Well i'll be damned!!!!!!!!

Not sure how/why but GM AND Ford are really starting to get serious about their cars and the materials used and the engine technology also.

Damn I would love a R/H/D F150 EcoBoost! And now the new one is even better!!!!!!!

So the 2.7 will have more low-end torque than the old 5.4L V8 3 valve. Same torque, but should peak from 2,000 rpm! About 20 more kws too. I don't think these numbers really put into perspective how quick that 2.7 will be though because it's also going to peak higher, more gears, and a much lighter weight. I am guessing 0-100km/h in 7.5-8 seconds for the 2.7L F150.

About the same power and torque as our BA XR6T but with seriously good fuel economy that makes diesel redundant...

Well done Ford U.S the development is paying off!

Finally the yanks are converting to smaller capacity engines like the rest of the world....Gasoline is now $1.00 per litre over there so even the yanks are feeling the pinch after all those years of cheap abundant fuel running huge oversized V8's.

About 80c around here ($3/Gal). But still no matter how cheap or expensive fuel is, using less to do the same job is always a good thing.

You mean the 4.4 with 250Kw / 700Nm? 3.6 has gone a long time ago.

Oh well. Yeah that'll do. Probably more suited to the F250 though.

Ford have now confirmed no RHD. So it's not coming here.

http://www.goauto.com.au/mellor/mell...257C5F007A75AD

Weight reduction is extremely impressive. The current old F series actually gained market share over the ALL NEW Silverado so this will slaughter it. GM must be crapping themselves cause their cash cow is being killed by an old model F series with the new one looking like a game changer.

I don't see why not. I haven't seen it confirmed anywhere if the 2.7 is related to the 3.5/3.7 that Ford has used the last few years, but the new MKZ has a 3.7 V6.

Weather or not it competes with the Ranger,it's about giving the buying public a choice of what they want.
It's about time Ford Australia started listening to the buyers rather than telling them what they want/get.

Not sure Ford AU had much say in it. If it isn't being made in RHD that would be Ford HQ determining that at the development stage.
