Sort of a wake I guess...

Is this an event that Ford is doing or is it an event that Someone has organised and it will be basically a drive to Ford factory in Broadmeadows.

Honestly this event needs to be sanctioned by ford or it should not go ahead (or at least not on their front lawn). I'm all for it so long as all parties are in on the plans and agree to what happens and when.

Don't forget a lot of people are losing their job that day...

Are you sure this is organised? its a long way to go and the view from the Ford car park will be nothing spectacular.
and if you didn't get it by mu previous Post Broadmeadows is no place to go for a holiday..

Re the Ford farewell days. I emailed Ford regarding the dates for this event and they told me no dates had as yet been finalised.
They said the information would be publicised when finalised. If anyone wants to confirm this for themselves the Ford number is 133673. Its a free call....

I have posted a thread in the QLD section regarding this cruise, had some interest. I'm driving down for the event and might have a few more coming along. Could you keep us posted as to what's going on.

But what is actually happening, it just seems like all that is happening is a massive cruise to Ford Broadmeadows and then onto Ford Geelong as one of the Faceboom pages has it.

Once there then what, Ford Broadmeadows is not exactly setup to park 100s of cars, plus I would assume you couldn't just park in the car park unless Ford have given the ok.

Then there is the Geelong plant, that has small amount of parking out the front.

I'm sure there will be media invited for the last day, but I highly doubt general public will be allowed to just stroll in.

All we need is for the media and police to keep out and stay out. Probably won't happen though...

Had a notification yesterday,that this event is "off".Can anyone shed any light on this?

I would suggest the event was never sanctioned by Ford and there have probably been some letters sent asking it to be cancelled. This is just a guess though.

The first time I stayed there, in 2000, the place was 'cheap and cheerful" but OK. The second time I stayed, ten years later it was a pigsty.

The place would be now be rebranded as Ibis Budget. and more than likely would have been cleaned up and refurbished.
