Some years ago (2003) John Goss himself attended the Ford 100th anniversary occasion in the US (Dearborn).
There he found three JGS' in the car park!: http://www.aussiecoupes.com/jgs.html |

...and I thought the Irish were just buying up our Escorts.
It'd be a blast muscling that one down the hedge rows.

G'day , Bloody great...I love seeing there are fans in Europe too...Nice car..One of our local cops has a huge passion for Fords and he owns a really beaut fully restored John Goss Special.. He is also the co-ordinator for our local Cranks and Tinkerers Car Show in June each year and organises a good contingent of the FPV/Tickford and XR Club of Tasmania to come along..
Here's his car during the restoration..Just recently he's done a major engine rebuild too...He's actually a top bloke and his JG is a beaut..Had to be ready for his wedding day as you'll see ...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XaWIaXNoYNo ..Cheers Rod.. That's one ugly numberplate. Gorgeous looking coupe though, well looked after. That black grill gives it a lot more muscular look.

I grew up in the XB- XC Falcon era, (owning an XB myself) and as far as the Falcon coupes went, the John Goss special was one of my favourites at the time, beaten only by the XC Cobra coupe three years later in looks IMO.

G'day "Look at da bitch "...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qq4aPwp7cGg
This New Yorker from the Catskill Mountains if memory serves me correctly loves our Falcon coupe's and this is one of them...He would love a new Falcon but the bloody Yank authorities make it nearly impossible to import one... Ah well , their loss...but this bloke loves this one.....Cheers Rod... |

http://jalopnik.com/here-are-the-fou...uni-1682067632 I think though the popularity of Australian Fords in the US (and to a lesser extent the UK, although they were officially available there in the 70's) is largely to do with the Mad Max films. But who knows, there may be a flow-on effect from 2028 onwards. |

Maybe an EB GT is about the best of the current era, not that this would be too bad. Something like this https://www.tradeuniquecars.com.au/b...-market-review To be honest , the 25 year rule is plain ridiculous...Not just Aussie cars are they not allowed to get but so many nice European and Japanese too.. Ah well , 2027 some yank might enjoy a nice Series 3 TE/TS or TL 50 or the first of the mighty BA XR6 Turbo's or something..Only another decade...2033 for an FG , or 2039 for the first FGX's... Nah , their loss , not ours... Cheers Rod... |

Quite a few Falcon/Fairmont's made it over to the UK, you could even buy them new in the 60s/70s/80s through the local Ford dealerships, GT's an all....
This site has a whole lot of info on the UK Falcon/Fairmont's, though it looks like it hasn't been updated in years, a lot of stuff seems to have vanished of it now, but you get the idea...... http://www.aus-ford-uk.co.uk/index.html |

G'day Re the 25 year import rule.... I suppose this South Australian bloke who did this was exempt...I wonder was he allowed to actually drive it in the U.S. after the show...Probably not...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfBnNZA0agE Nice GT though... Cheers Rod.. |
