I saw this XC the other day.
Surely this is taking the ****, have a look at the 3 photos.
And the ad reads "never been modified rust in usual places"

I've seen some incredible work and restos on this very forum but is anyone parting with 5k for something that barely exists anymore?

The funny thing is, by the looks of it, with all the original parts on that XC (GS fuel cap, over riders, original slotters etc., the parts are probably worth what he is asking.

Yeah I did take that into account, but a quick tally didn't get me very close to 5k at all. I don't think I would have posted those pics to sell what may be valuable.

A quick look on carsales and you'll find a few asking over 30K for a VN SS.
that make this VT look like a bargain.
FWIW cheapest SS commodores look to be just under 7K, I assume they would be trashed too.

15 Is probably about right for good example - so its not that bad a rip

If somebody wants to sell a car at what some may consider an exorbitant price, that is their business. If it sells at the price that is asked, good luck to them, and the buyer may consider the asking price fair.
So, why put **** on somebody’s advert, and why is this thread exist ?

Wouldn't touch that with a bargepole, 'espically' making us read that bloody font!

Oh hang on, that's probably the OPs phone (hides).. ;)

The VT certainly looked good in that colour. If it was showroom STOCK condition well....would I pay it if in that market? Maybe.. Those mods are doing it no favours though. Don't think it's old enough to really attract the attention of those mourning Holdens loss at that price.

I have to agree. What kind of psychopath uses comic sans as their preferred font to read??

And again I agree about the car. He’s about 10-15 years too early on that asking price. VT has already hit its rock bottom price and probably can only go up from there on.

The thing that surprises me is that VN & VP SS’s are actually selling for stupid amounts in the mid to high 20s.
They’re still creaky, undertyred, floating coffins.

The HSV stuff is becoming ridiculous as well, genuine parts for my car like the tool kits are going for upto 1k.

I know, that's why I jumped onto a nice Pearl black 5.0 EB Fairmont a while back.
I didn't bat an eyelid paying $4K for all original with good body, paint and interior.
This one's a keeper until I'm too old to drive..

It's always hard to hear that your car isn't worth the money you're asking,
chances are that happens right when you're forced to sell and not just spit balling..

Which reminds me, that bloody thing is in the shed with all the rebuild parts...
