I have damage to the XR6 badges on the rear doors and want to replace them.
I was thinking heat and a scraper, but is there a better way? Obviously I don't want to risk damage to the doors. |

First of all, don't use a scraper. You will damage the paint. Grab some fishing line (some people even suggest dental floss) and heat the badge while cutting behind the badge with the fishing line. You can also use something like wax and grease remover as some sort of lubricant on the paint so that it is less likely to scratch it. You will not get all of the glue off so you will need the wax and grease applied to a cloth and some buff the rest. |

Use some thin fishing line between the badge and the panel to cut through the adhesive tape. Takes a little time to go through so be patient. Then remove the adhesive remnants with wax and grease remover on a rag.
Edit: pg2 posted while I was typing. |

The OP would have posted in here before his post in the other thread would have even been answered. Last edited by PG2; 28-07-2018 at 10:59 PM. |

The best glue remover I ever used and still do is Eucalyptus oil, its brilliant on all the stickers shops etc put on their products, and residue from sellotape, duct tape and even masking tape!
And its cheap, put a few drops in when you wash ya smelly socks or scrungies! Cheers Billy. |

I removed badges recently.
Buy some De-Solve it from Bunnings which is a goo and adhesive remover. On a hot day soak around the badge with the remover and let it soak right in. Then remove badge with fishing line. Continue to soak the remaining adhesive with desolve it and wipe off with a rag. |
