hey all...got the xr6 checked on friday...got told the prob with y the engine revs up and down wit air con on is because i have a dead switch behind the air compressor... error came up as being refrigarant error??? cant remember wat it was called....extractors are suppose to make a ticking noise and its normal for injectors to tap...but i dont think u are suppose to hear them loudly inside the car driving along are you??? hoping this switch will quieten down the compressor a bit and to delete the whirring noise....
got cat welded up properly, but got told i need a new centre muffler...does it sound right to cost me 120 for new box fitted??? its a 2 1/2 inch sports...got told it has caved in still sounding like it is leaking |

That price is good for a muffler. Not sure how the air con works though.

i have what seems to be a lazy lifter in my car also, i've had a mechanic check it and he said the same thing, most noticeable between about 2,200 and 3,000RPM. apparently lifters are worth $140 or so plus labour... whilst were in this subject is it worth paying a bit extra to get some form of performance lifters(if possible) or better off getting a cam package? sorry for the hijack lol
