Default quick question

Can anyone tell me which way the fuel lines go i think i might have them the wrong way around. Looking in the engine bay from the front of the car which side is the fuel line and which side is the fuel return line... at the moment I have the left one hooked up to the fuel pressure regulator and right one to the fuel rail which I think could be the wrong way around.. which would explain why its running super rich... lowest I got was 25L/100kmph crusing on the freeway on the way to work lol

I can answer this

Fuel line from filter goes into rail.
Fuel line from bottom of fuel reg goes back to the tank.

Hey Neb 23rd July dyno day Hallam Performance, you coming.

yeah but the fuel lines run next to each other.... which side is which looking from the front of the car? i think i've got fuel just pumping straight into the fuel rail bypassing the fuel reg at the moment.

i might come to hallam performance havn't decided yet.. would be interesting to see what the stock xr6 engine pulls

It will if your fuel reg is stuffed

hmmm are you sure it wouldn't work if fuel is getting pumped into the return rail?

Neb - I thought the same as you (till I put in a good fuel reg and couldnt work out why nothing came through), but the fuel is supposed to go direct into the rail, and the fuel reg is designed to maintain fuel rail pressure in the rail, and the return line is take extra fuel above the pressure back to the tank

yeah i understand now... i was thinking the other way around.. that fuel went to the fuel reg first and then any access fuel drains out of the fuel rail but that doesn't make sense at all. i guess it will only work one way so it must be right. most likely an ignition problem... gotta change leads and plugs tonight.

it sounds very tough at the moment... exhaust leaks between extractors and head, and extractors and cat. and its missing, running on 5cylinders i think. so i guess theres alot of unburnt fuel which is why my trip computer is telling me its running really rich. and yeah pretty gutless at the moment. hopefully get the ignition sorted out tonight.

Good luck, I am running on 5.5 cylinders I reckon, tomorrow night will see an attempt to sort out why.

Neb - check the colour of the spark plug ends will help.
