Hi all
Need to lower back springs (still!), and because I think to get it level with front I don't need considerably too much lowering, I went today to get a quote to reset/compress springs... anyway, I think what I got quoted was way too much. So, what do you guys think? Get new springs or reset/compress? Also, what would I be looking at for a set of superlows (just rears) in comparison to compressing. Anyone got any input, price guides, advice? Thanx. PS. Where else in Geelong is recommended to take car for this kind of stuff. |

Get ultra lows in the back i hav em and the sit nice as ive had no problems with scraping over speed humps ive got superlows up front and ultras down the back and they set me back $210 and fit them yourself it simple as. also compressing weakns the spring and the give the bouncing feel. the lower springs are worth getting the spring rate is harder and they will both sit evan as compressed ones tend to sag un evanly. A place to get them would be ur local mechanics they are most likley the be a dealer and they will end up beling cheaper than autobarn, repco, bursons, supercheap auto.
i hope this will help. if u want a pic to c the height it sits pm me.

is it true that ultra lows are only 10mm lower than supers? cos i got superlows and still have like an inch of wheel gap.

it depends on the shocks i think. i have KYB shockers and it sits like normal xr suspension almost. many friends and fellow posters have pedders shockers and their wheels are up in the arches.

Thanks ebmanul. But yes, I agree with derb on his observations. Some cars I see with supers in the back look like they only got lows (and supers in front), while others I see sit beautifully. If i get ultras, surely I'm going to need new shocks... yes?
p.s. ebmanul, your car is sitting nice |
