It doesn't work. If it did he wouldn't be running out of time, you could simply go back once you're done.

Q: Does the eftpos machine work on Pre-pay time credits or pay as you travel? posted by: steve__ (15 ) 3:31 pm, Thu 29 Sep
A: i see you have mistaken the time defliberator for an old eftpos machine. Easy mistake for beginners to time travel to make, they do look similar.

Hahaha I love these sort of auctions. This is one of the best!

I'm not gonig to bother reading all of the questions, but some are pretty interesting....

Q: I think this joke you have is gone mad, the price now will cost you. If the buyer doesnt pay, you may not get a refund on success fee. And if what you have put is incorrect, your liable

A: Please note this is not a JOKE auction and the winning bider is exspected to pay within 5 days of the auctions end.

I noticed the current highest bidder has 100% good feedback, I wonder if he intends on following through with the auction?

Bugger, I was going to bid $10000000000000000000000000000 gazillion.

No problem in paying for it. I would just open a heap of bank accounts several hundred years ago and bank the winnings I get from the next 100 gold lottos that I will win.

The compound interest from this would be more money that there is in the world....

Sounds like the same method outlined by Douglas Adams when explaining how to pay for your meal at Milliways - the restraunt at the end of the universe. :hihi:
"All you have to do is deposit one penny in a savings account in your own era, and when you arrive at the End of Time the operations of compound interest means that the fabulous cost of your meal has been paid for."

speaking of this topic - there was some "conspiracy" during the early days of the web (2000-2002?) of someone claiming to have a time machine - apparently the guy knew what he was talking about, probably an advanced physics student or something having a good laugh, but it got a few people going - he also made some random comments about the future that got a few people treating it as a nostrodamus, I'm treating it as a work of fiction, still an interesting read though - and amazing how quickly you can mysterfy people. There was a thread of it on the old FF site.

Yeah I've read all about John Titor, it's actually a hell of an interesting story.

Yep, Wikipedia has quite a lot of detail too - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Titor

Also debunks it too with a real physicist from Duke Uni.

What I find most interesting about the whole John Titor story, is that nobody seems to have made any effort to find out who he really was, or even trace roughly where he was posting from. Surely his IP would have been tracable, and that would have at least given away which ISP he was using, and given at least a rough idea of where he was posting from?

Ok, I found this: http://aberwiki.org/Timetravel_Hoax so I stand somewhat corrected, however was that the same person who posted those messages on the forums and participated in the chatrooms?
