I will agree that they do look ok but I honestly can't see the benifit in tarting up 10 monaros. I know there probably wasn't a diffence in their pricing over an SS but it still seems pointless exercise to me.
What can it do that your normal highway patrol SS? can't? Ok they stand out like dogs balls and may make a few people lift off the gas when they see them but apart from that............

Well they did say they will be able to chase speeders now....... :

Holden would be enjoying the media attention with their product.

Pretty much just a PR excercise to make the QLD HWP look professional. I found in QLD that HWP SS's are few and far between and most of the work is done by Executives and a few V8 Exectives (Complete with 15" steelies), not that im complaining cause it saves tax dollars.

As far as these Monaro's go, they probably got them dirt cheap and they will will probably get very good resale on them, add in loads of free PR and its win-win.

The exact opposite of the Cardigan Squad (tm) I saw yesterday pulling someone over on the Rig Road, an unmarked Camry Sportivo!

Holden MUST be having trouble getting rid of the last of the Monaro stock!

on a more serious note, how do they load you into the back seat when they need to take you back to the cop shop?

stuffed into the boot mafia style perhaps???

whats the money that the copper has to wear police issue mokasins and blue flannel while driving that dogs breakfast down the highway.

Edit: Probably doesnt even have a gun issued, just a shopping bag filled with video cassettes to beat you down with.

They look pox.

And who was the idiot who thought of making coupes into cop cars? Isn't a part of their job to sit struggling apprahendees into the backseat? Yeah, that's a real witty design. Well freakin' done. Get back in your corner, dunce!

Isn't the transport of prisoners (or apprahendees) the domain of the cage trucks. I know the times I've been in the back seat of a cop car it has always been as "getting a lift", whereas when the lift has been to the station it has always been in a cage truck (usually a landcruiser/patrol)

honestly if im smart enough i could just go up a embankment over the paddock and bye bye mr monaro or if im on me bike cops never gunna catch me(hyperthetically ppl's)
monaro's have grunt but you could paint up a SS or a XR6T bright red and still have pocket money left and show awareness etc with the extra change you could probably do another 2 cars up and make more awareness but nup not the police...
its a waste really, they wanna make more awareness but they are already targetting the hoon side of things and i guess that would pay for themselves if thats the case.
